Are you certain that if you were to die today that you would make it into heaven? Why do you think God should let you into heaven?

If you died and stood before God and He asked you, “Why should I let you into Heaven?” what would you say to Him?

Think about it ....

If your answer was something like “Because I am a good person” or “I’ve done more things right than wrong” or anything based on what you do, then you should recommit yourself to the understanding of God's word.

The first answer that should have come to your mind is something like “I am saved by grace” or “Because Jesus is my Lord and Savior” or something that shows you have a clear understanding of the gospel. Remember, salvation is a gift from God to us. We can never make up for our sin by self-improvement or good works. Only by trusting in Jesus Christ as God's offer of forgiveness can we be saved.

Eternal life begins the moment we truly receive Jesus Christ into our life by faith.

Make plans for your future today.

If you've received Jesus today, welcome to God's family. As a way to grow closer to Him, the Bible tells us to follow up on our commitment.
  • Get baptized as commanded by Christ. (Matthew 28:19; Acts 2:38)
  • Tell someone else about your new faith in Christ. (Mark 16:15; 1 Corinthians 9:16; Romans 1:16)
  • Spend time with God each day. It does not have to be a long period of time. Just develop the daily habit of praying to Him (Matthew 21:22; Philippians 4:6)
  • Reading His Word. Ask God to increase your faith and your understanding of the Bible. (2 Timothy 2:15; Psalms 119:105)
  • Seek fellowship with other followers of Jesus. Develop a group of believing friends to answer your questions and support you. (Hebrews 10:25)
  • Find a local church where you can worship God.

GOD'S PLAN OF SALVATION

The Bible says there is only one way to Heaven

Jesus said: "I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Fatherbut by me." (John 14:6)
Good works cannot save you.
"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast." (Ephesians 2:8-9)
Trust Jesus Christ today! Here's what you must do:

  1. Admit you are a sinner.

"For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;" (Romans 3:23)
"Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:" (Romans 5:12)
"If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us." (1 John 1:10)

  1. Be willing to turn from sin (repent).

Jesus said: "I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish." (Luke 13:5)
"And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent:" (Acts 17:30)

  1. Believe that Jesus Christ died for you, was buried, and rose from the dead.

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." (John 3:16)
"But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners. Christ died for us." (Romans 5:8)
"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved." (Romans 10:9)

  1. Through prayer, invite Jesus into your life to become your personal Saviour.

"For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation." (Romans 10:10)
"For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." (Romans 10:13)
